Richard Meyer - Loss mitigation & short sale expert
Mr. Meyer’s qualifications and expertise are matched only by his love of the default real estate industry.
Rich’s early real estate training career was propelled by his participation as broker-owner of a prestigious multi-office real estate company in South Florida (ERA Prestige Realty). The necessity to create and train “multi-million dollar producers “ provided the motivation necessary for Rich to enhance an already comprehensive real estate training program designed by his master franchisee ERA (Electronic Realty Associates).
PS: the word “Electronic” in the name of the company was meant to first establish, and then pronounce, the market dominance of the ERA franchisees by being the most technologically advanced real estate organization in the nation. Can you guess the basis of ERA’s “advanced technology”? It was the facsimile machine.
The balance of Rich’s experience and professional knowledge has been acquired through the years as outlined below;
Law Firm Experience
Rich worked for a leading foreclosure law firm where he studied the legal aspects of real property law, the election of remedies and foreclosure law.
1993-Current Foreclosure Sale Experience
Rich continues to participate and remain active in foreclosure auctions throughout the state of Florida. To date he has participated in the purchase of over 1500 properties in this fashion. He has also researched and studied the results of tens-of-thousands of individual property auctions.
1996-Current Purchase Defaulted Mortgages
Rich remains very active in the purchase, rehabilitation and (unfortunately) the litigation of defaulted mortgage notes through his company, Rockland Trust Corp. He first sought to invest in mortgages in 1996 because he wanted to get farther up stream in the foreclosure process. He wanted more control and options in foreclosure litigation and at the sale; he wanted to be the plaintiff.
2000-Current Home Retention and Short Sale
Rich became a student and advocate of home retention and short sale transactions in 2000. He continues to be very active in these fields through Rockland Trust Corp., and more recently through 180 Loan Workout Company. Rich continues to develop tools and techniques beneficial to both borrowers and lenders.
